(1) Fibroblasten:
- Produceren van extracellulaire matrix componenten: collageen, elastine, glycosaminoglycanen, multiadhesive glycoproteïnen
- Fibroblast = actieve cel: grote, ovale nucleus, prominente nucleolus, veel RER, goed ontwikkelde Golgi complex
- Fibrocyt: minder actief: kleiner met minder ontwikkelde celcomponenten
- Figure 5–2: Rat skin met fibroblasten (F) in dermis
- Figure 5–3: Quiescent fibroblasts met smalle cytoplasmaprojesies en condenseerde chromatine
- Figure 5–4: Actieve en quiescent fibroblasts: verschillen in externe kenmerken en ultrastructure

(2) Macrofagen:
- Irregulier oppervlak met uitstulpingen: endocytose activiteit

- Veranderen van monocyt naar macrofaag: toename van GC, # lysosomen, # microtubulen, # microfilamenten
