Loading a Self-Loading Rifle or Carbine
- Identify a safe direction to avoid accidental discharge.
- Point the rifle in the safe direction with your finger off the trigger to prevent accidental firing.
- Attach a loaded magazine to the rifle using your support hand.
- Place the safety catch on "fire" to allow the cocking lever to be pulled forward.
