Joint Petroleum Office (JPO) Responsibilities

Integrated Materiel Management (IMM)

  • IMM is the exercise of total DOD-level management responsibility for a federal supply group or class, commodity, or item for a single agency, including computation of requirements, funding, budgeting, storing, issuing, cataloging, standardizing, and procuring functions.
  • IMM supports and influences joint bulk petroleum logistics.

Authorities, Responsibilities, and Roles

  • The Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (USD[AT&L]) establishes policies for management of bulk petroleum stocks and facilities.
