Study Notes
Hello everyone and welcome to Top Think. Today, we're going to learn about emotional intelligence and how to master our emotions. Let's begin.
Number one: reinterpret your symptoms. When we feel nervous, our body reacts in certain ways, such as quickening of breath, pounding of the heart, and stomach tying in knots. Most people interpret these symptoms as negative and associate them with emotional anxiety. However, these symptoms can also indicate excitement. By recognizing this, we can change our mindset and gain confidence to perform at our best.
Number two: recognize your spectrum. People with high emotional intelligence recognize a wider range of emotions than the average person. By expanding our emotional vocabulary, we can understand and regulate our emotions better.
Number three: diversify your experiences. Our experiences widen our perspective and teach us new things. By exposing ourselves to the unknown, we can gain a better understanding of different people and personalities.
Number four: reinforce your standards. People with high standards for themselves also maintain these standards for the people in their lives. By empowering others, we can empower ourselves and take a more confident and active role in our lives.
Number five: limit your reactivity. People with high emotional intelligence control their reactivity and take time to think before responding. By doing so, they develop strong conflict resolution skills and avoid creating unnecessary conflict.
