Types of Settlements

  • Isolated dwelling: a single house or series of buildings in isolated places, often due to personal choice
  • Hamlet: a small number of houses, usually without facilities, located in rural areas
  • Village: a few houses, often with facilities, located at the edge of urban areas or in rural settings
  • Town: has thousands of residences, complete facilities, civic centers, and railways
  • City: large settlements, divided into different areas, with efficient transport systems, green areas, and merged towns
  • Megacities: the largest human settlements, with over 10 million people, often formed by merged urban areas

Natural Environments

Rainforest
