Uniform Policy General Guidelines

• Formal or Regulation Uniform is mandatory unless directed otherwise by the Festa Commander.
• Accessories must adhere to color coding:
  • Gold snaps for supervisory officers
  • Silver snaps for non-supervisory officers
• Unit-specific uniforms (e.g., K-9, Helicopter, Bike Patrol) are worn solely during normal duty hours.
• Appropriate headgear is required with unit-specific uniforms.
• Gloves should be plain black or navy-blue; Bike Patrol officers may use full or half finger gloves.
• Sunglasses must lack bright colors; acceptable are dark lenses, optionally with silver mirror coating.
• Supervisory officers conduct monthly inspections per GM Procedure 315 to ensure compliance with uniform specifications.
• Requests for uniform changes are submitted to the Labor Relations Committee for assessment, which then informs the Chief of Police for final decisions or testing if applicable.
• Officers near federal-aid highways must wear high-visibility clothing meeting ANSI/ISEA 107: 2004 specifications, specifically the Blauer 339P High-Visibility Yellow Vest.

Uniform Appearance Standards

• Uniforms must consistently appear neat and clean.
• Faded uniforms or those with noticeable repair patches are prohibited.
• Repairs on uniforms or accessories must be discreet; conspicuous repairs are not allowed.
