Understanding Paragraph Structure

A paragraph consists of multiple sentences focused on a single subject.
The primary focus of a paragraph is to convey one important point, known as the main idea.

Main Idea Identification

The main idea is often expressed in a specific sentence called the topic sentence.
Topic sentences can appear at different positions within a paragraph:
- Beginning
- Middle
- End

Terminology

The topic sentence is also known as the explicit main idea of the paragraph.

Anne Frank and Her Family
