Types of Text

Simple Text

  • A simple sentence or text that expresses a single idea or thought
  • Typically has one independent clause
  • Has a single main idea or topic
  • Examples:
    • Declarative sentence: "The sun rises in the east."

Compound Text

  • A text that contains two or more independent clauses (simple sentences) joined by a conjunction

  • A dependent clause cannot stand alone as a complete sentence
