- Paranoid delusions:
- Delusion of grandeur: false fixed belief of being very powerful and important
- Delusion of persecution: false fixed belief of being harassed or persecuted
- Delusion of reference: false fixed belief that others' behavior refers to oneself
- Delusion of infidelity: false belief that one's lover is unfaithful
- Litigious delusion: pathological tendency to take legal actions due to imagined mistreatment
- Erotomanic delusion: false belief that a high-status person has a romantic relationship with oneself
- Delusions of control (influence):
- Thought withdrawal: false belief that one's thoughts are being removed from one's mind
- Thought insertion: delusion that thoughts are being implanted in one's mind
- Thought broadcasting: delusion that one's thoughts can be heard by others
- Depressive delusions:
- Nihilistic delusion: false feeling that oneself, a part of the body, others, or the world is nonexistent or ending

- Standing plans: used repeatedly over a period of time
- Single-use plans: developed to accomplish a specific purpose and then discarded

- Precise in objectives, scope, and nature
- Hierarchical in nature and has organizational identification
