Local Anesthetic Toxicity

  • Local anesthetic drugs can produce two types of toxicity symptoms: local and systemic.

Local Symptoms

  • Ischemia at the site of injection
  • Necrosis at the site of injection

Systemic Symptoms

  • Occur when local anesthetic drug reaches toxic level in circulation
  • Characterized by:
