    Responsibilities for Notifying Fire Investigation Division

    • Between 2300hrs and 0700hrs, the Incident Commander notifies the standby TFS Fire Investigator of fires that meet overnight notification criteria, and defers other incidents until the next dayshift.

    • Incident Commander makes one attempt to determine if a patient has been admitted to hospital between 2300hrs and 0700hrs, and notifies Fire Investigations if admitted.
    • If unable to confirm patient status, the Incident Commander emails Fire Investigations, who will follow up with the hospital in the morning.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Incident Commander notifies Toronto Police Service of intentionally set fires and maintains control of the site until turned over to police or TFS Investigator.
