Students must identify symptoms of dehydration, overexertion, hyperthermia, and hypothermia.

Symptoms of Dehydration: dizziness, dark urine, lethargy, dry mouth and tongue, muscle weakness, and thirst

Personal Grooming
- Before a dance, shower and use deodorant, brush teeth and use mouthwash or breath mints. Avoid strong-smelling foods like garlic. The smell of cigarettes is undesirable.
During/After a Dance
- Check personal hygiene regularly. Freshen up and towel off in the bathroom during active dance sessions. Carry an extra shirt to the dance in case needed.
Asking for a Dance
- Traditional phrases for requesting a dance include: "May I have this dance?", "Would like to dance?", "Care to dance?", "Shall we dance?".
Declining a Dance
