- Labaw Donggon is the son of Datu Paubari and the goddess Alunsina.
- Alunsina is the goddess of the eastern sky and was previously known as Laun Sina, "The Unmarried One."
- Alunsina angered the gods by choosing to marry a mortal, Datu Paubari.
- The gods planned to destroy Halawod by flood, but Alunsina's sister, Suklang Malayon, warned them of the plot.
- Alunsina and Paubari survived the flood and returned to the plains.
- Alunsina gave birth to triplets, who were transformed into handsome young men by a high priest.
- Labaw Donggon, the eldest, set off on a series of quests to win the hands of beautiful women.
- He first traveled to Handug to win the hand of Angoy Ginbitinan.
- He fought and killed the monster Manalintad in order to marry Angoy Ginbitinan.
