- Jesus teaches a parable to His disciples
- The parable of the sower is about how people respond to the Word of God
- The seed represents the word of God
- It is important to have a good foundation to receive and act on the word of God
- The seed that falls on the path represents those who hear the word but it does not take root in their hearts
- They hear the word but do not understand its meaning
- The devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts
- They do not believe and are not saved
- The seed falling on the rocky ground represents those who hear the word of God and receive it with joy, but they are superficial.
- They lack a deep understanding and commitment to God's Word.
- Their faith is shallow and they fall away when they are tested.
- Those who hear the Word but live in worry , wealth, and pleasure are represented by the seed falling in the thorns
- They cannot grow because they are choked by their worldly anxieties and desires.
