The Krystolis Royal Family

• The story follows the fictional royal family, the Krystolis
• King Edvard, Cazzmon's father, has died, leaving Cazzmon to take the throne

Cazzmon's Family

• Einar, Cazzmon's uncle, governs the Krystolian province of Camiro and rarely visits
• Aristo is Cazzmon’s twin brother, and second in line to the throne
• Flora and Celes, Cazzmon's younger sisters, are too young to rule

Cazzmon's Grief and Responsibilities

• Cazzmon is given 24 hours to grieve before starting coronation preparations
• Cazzmon finds it hard to transition from grieving prince to future king
• He feels unprepared and considers himself unfit to be king at only eighteen years old
• Customarily, a new king is crowned on his twenty-second birthday

Wrazmuth Chetwood

• Wrazmuth Chetwood, the late king's advisor as well as an annoying person in Cazzmon's life, interrupts Cazzmon's grieving time to plan his coronation
• The Royal Court wants Cazzmon to start planning his coronation as soon as possible

• Mavia Faedron lives in Dorena Castle
• Mavia is a princess
• Mavia feels unfulfilled and seeks a purpose beyond marrying a king, unlike other princesses

Royal Expectations

• Mavia learns that King Edvard of Krystolis has died during morning tea with her mother, the queen
• Krystolis is seeking a bride for the prince to wed after the coronation
• Mavia will visit the palace in one week
• Mavia is expected to be on her best behavior
• The queen expects Mavia to make a good impression on the prince at the coronation ball and to socialize with him.

Einar's Concerns

• Einar Krystolis, uncle to Cazzmon, is heartbroken over Edvard's death
• Einar believes the proper heir should be the oldest with the most experience
• Einar is unhappy that Cazzmon, an eighteen-year-old, was chosen to be the new king of Krystolis

Einar's Journey

• On his way to Krystolis, Einar reflects on Cazzmon's rashness which makes him unfit to be king
• Einar's carriage is white with gold accents, drawn by black stallions named Poneros and Agathos
• They are named after characters from Orfeda von Adred's novel
• Einar closes his copy of "Poneros and Agathos," a book he’s read multiple times

Royal Court Meeting

• The Royal Court meets to discuss Cazzmon's coronation
• Hjalmar Torro and Lord Tveito are overseeing the meeting and Wrazmuth will lead
• The Court has invited princesses, as Cazzmon must marry within a year of his coronation
• Cazzmon, though grieving, agrees to the coronation next weekend

Cazzmon's Frustrations

• He feels he has no say in the coronation
• Keli, a close friend of his father's, supports Cazzmon having a role in planning
• Cazzmon finds his brother Aristo bitter about not being king

Aristo's Jealousy

• Aristo is the twin brother of Cazzmon
• Aristo is bored and jealous that Cazzmon is about to be crowned king, and feels he has nothing
• He is known to be charming with women
• He overhears the discussion about inviting princesses for Cazzmon to marry

Twin Rivalry

• Aris jokes about potentially stealing a girl or exploding the ballroom
• Cazz tells Aris that he has to marry some princess in the next year

• Edvard fell in love long before his marriage, so he did not experience difficulty or awkwardness.

Lunch with the Princes

• Cazz offers Aris land to rule over as a duke, but Aris refuses, calling it pity
• He would rather be a farmer than be a duke of some place he doesn't care about

• Cazz picks up The Vale but previously put it down because of the book's first sentence

• Cazzmon reflects he's not someone who knows of romantic love
• He decides to read The Vale again

The Vale

• The Vale is no more, and neither is Mithov
• Mithov's soul was spread over the ruins of his domain
• Mithov could not retreat to the heavens to face his punishment
• The gods warned that this sanctuary can't go to ruin
• The power of his love allowed this fashion
• Love holds the soul together, mortals and immortals alike, keeps them from bursting apart and prevents inevitable combustion of the human mind
• Without love, hate is the only thing that can come of the human mind

Late Night Chat

• It’s 2 AM and Aris knocks on Cazz's door
• Cazz shares that he can't sleep because the Court is already planning to replace him, their father
• Cazz plans to visit his brother
• Aris brings up marriage, but Cazz doesn't want to get married
• Cazz states that he also doesn't want to marry at all, much to Aris' shock
• Cazz asks if he wants land like a duke, but Aris declines again
• Cazz threatens Aris for his comments
• Cazz is aware a Royal Court might arrest him.
• Aris asks Cazz to leave so his "visitor" can arrive
• Cazz questions how women can love them or if they are even capable of giving love

Cheating

• A girl (Iva) arrives at Aris' room
• Iva is a castle milkmaid of one month, who previously ignored Aris' advances.
• Iva liked Aris
• Aris asks if she is coming to see him because of the "news"
• Aris says he always has time for her, touching her hand
• Aris moves in for a kiss
• Iva states he is too good at this"
• She is flustered
• Aris states that he thought she thought he had a "history"
• Iva declares she barely knew him and calls what has transpired an insult
• She swiftly leaves
• The door closes
• Aris calls himself "everything ruiner" for ruining peoples' lives

Formal Greetings

• Cazz waits by the golden gates to greet his uncle for the formal greetings
• The wind is cold
• Cazz notes Wrazmuth is a brother.
• The prince is waiting for his uncle
• Cazz attempts to speak about literature, because he knows it matters to his uncle
• His uncle responds to everything the prince shares
• The prince is waiting on the arrival of many respective princesses and families
• It is his duties as assigned

Reunion

• Einar's stoic expression breaks into a smile when seeing Cazzmon
• Einar hugs Cazzmon tightly
• Einar checks if his horse Agathos is ok
• Cazz asks Einar how he is dealing, and the response is "I see."
• Cazz lies, stating his brother is ok by commenting: "I haven't really spoken to him much."
• Cazz attempts to talk about Orfeda Von Adred, especially The Vale

Lineage Discussion

• He attempts to speak about literature because he knows it matters to his uncle
• His uncle responds to everything the prince shares
• Cazz learns his father's favourite book was The Vale.
• Cazz's uncle wishes he was never a duke because his parents chose his father to be heir even though there was a choice.
• Cazz notes that his father is older than his uncle, to which the uncle responds, "because they are parents"
• Cazz's uncle wanted power, greatness, and wealth for Krystolis when his father was chosen for them

Mavia's Arrival

• At 2 p.m. sharp, Princess Mavia's carriage arrives at Windtower Castle-Krystolis
• Mavia is awed but notes the cold
• The carriage is larger than Dorena
• Faedron is more temperate

Forced Pleasantries

• Mavia's mother tells her to be polite to the prince to see their future
• She eyes the "purple balloon" dress the prince is wearing with distaste, but dismisses it for later
• She asks to fix Mavia's face.
• A short man appears and Mavia almost says "materialized"
• A short man offers if her journey was comfortable
• The queen notes Mavis needs to make a "good first impression" and the dress is hideous.
• Maria shares there will be a coronation in two days, and to mingle with the prince.
• The short man is Wrazmuth Chetwood, the late King's advisor
• Lucilla questions it
• Rowena introduces the short man as Willam.
• Chetwood corrects her; it is Warzm
• Rowena tells him "I could care less."
• The queen orders to take us inside
• Mavia notes often that her mom can read like she knew her for 18 years, but tiny bits of the queen makes her fear her

Castle Life

• It is exceptionally tall and always had some kind of padding on shoulder straps to make look taller
• The castle is beautiful
• White pillars and Marble floors
• The vase comes with white roses and calla lilies, a buter drags wooden chest full
• The Queen whispers this can be your home
• She sighs the make good impration.

Mariela's Arrival

• Mavia reflects all of two children running around
• She follows to know what the two will be like now
• She'll change out of hideious clothing
• A maid came about her
• The dresses show the color of Faedron
• She set out each dresess, the color her would of course want her to wear.
• Maria notes her name is Mariela
• She pushed the cart into room
• She is beautiful but it will be no exception.
• It goes hair to change color to assume
• To not get help in all
• It was store window on the streets
• The room goes to her to do it with
• The mirror and smile
• She helps her for the dress

A Ball For the Future King?

• She gets called “Your Highness” and comments “You look amazing”
• Mariela gets to work pinning the hem
• Mariela states a ball is important so the King has a coronation
• She questions the Prince (what do you know?)
• She asks who is to be crowned
• Maraela mentions the importance of the princes being together.
• Cazz's twin, Aristo, is someone she recommends to stay away from
• Mariela notes her sister had a broken heart and had to take work away to comfort her due to Aristos acts.
