- The Greek pantheon is much older than the cities of Classical Antiquity.

Gaia
- Gaia, the Earth Mother, sprang forth from Chaos.
- Gaia gave birth to Uranus, the sky god, and his brother Pontus, god of the ocean.
- The Titans were born from the union of Gaia and Uranus.
- Gaia also gave birth to the Cyclopes and Hecatoncheires.
- The Cyclopes had only one eye, and the three Hecatoncheires had a hundred hands and fifty heads each.
- Uranus was horrified with his offspring and imprisoned them in Tartarus.
Cronus
- Cronus was the Titan who answered Gaia's plea to overthrow Uranus.
- Cronus castrated Uranus, taking his place as ruler of the gods.
