The Globe Theatre
- The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare
- It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare's playing company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men
- The land the theatre was built on was owned by Thomas Brend, inherited by his son, Nicholas Brend and grandson Sir Mathew Brend
- It was destroyed by fire on June 29th, 1613
- A second Globe Theatre was built on the same site in June 1614
- It closed in 1642
- A modern construction of the Globe, named "Shakespeare's Globe," opened in 1997
- The modern "Shakespeare's Globe" is located approximately 750 feet (230 meters) downstream from the original Globe on the south bank of the Thames in London
