Cave Rescue Overview

Thirteen boys were trapped in the cave, comprising a soccer team and their coach.
The boys were trapped for a total of 18 days before being rescued.

Survival Strategies

During the first nine days, the boys survived without food by drinking water that dripped from stalactites and collecting small amounts from the cave walls.
To conserve energy, the boys stayed together and minimized movement, creating a sense of team spirit and morale.

Discovery and Rescue Operations

The trapped boys were discovered by a group of divers from the British Cave Rescue Council, who found them on July 2nd.
During the rescue mission, the boys wore wetsuits, helmets, and buoyancy devices to aid in their underwater transport.

Rescue Tethering and Logistics

Each boy was tethered to a diver using safety ropes to ensure they could be safely guided through the cave's challenging underwater passages.
The rescue mission lasted for three days, from July 8 to July 10.

Challenges Encountered

The rescue faced numerous obstacles including rising water levels, limited visibility, strong currents, and the boys’ own physical condition after being trapped for so long.
The complexity of navigating through narrow passages and dealing with the cave's unpredictable environment further complicated the rescue efforts.
