- When a hold is placed on an inmate, the agency that placed the hold must be notified and the inmate must have a confirmed warrant, capias, or other order to take into custody in another jurisdiction.
- When an inmate is transported to St. Lucie County with open charges or is sentenced in another jurisdiction, a hold will be placed on them.
- If an inmate is released to another jurisdiction or authority and has open charges or is sentenced on a St. Lucie County charge, a hold will still be placed on them.
