Structural Firefighting Nozzles and Tips
Shut-Offs
- The District uses 1 1/2" and 2 1/2" shut-offs, both made by Elkhart Brass, in Legacy and XD series.
- The 1 1/2" shut-off has an integral smoothbore with a diameter of 1 1/8", delivering 265 GPM, and complies with SOG 203.09.
- The 2 1/2" shut-off has a 2.5" inlet and 1.5" outlet, and is paired with medium-diameter hose lines that deliver over 200 GPM.
Tips
- The 7/8" tip is the primary tip for small diameter attack lines, delivering 160 GPM.
- The 1" tip is used in a two-piece assembly with a 1 1/8" tip, delivering 210 GPM, and is connected to a 2 1/2" shut-off.
- The 1 1/8" tip is a component of the two-piece tip assembly, delivering 265 GPM, and can be paired with the dedicated overhaul tip.
- The 1 1/4" tip is used on the Blitz Line, delivering 325 GPM, and is utilized for transitional fire attack, significant fire conditions, or exposure protection.
Fog Nozzles
- The Chief 175 GPM fog nozzle is used as an auxiliary nozzle on the Trash Line, delivering 175 GPM at 50 psi, and is not used for structural firefighting.
- The Chief 250 GPM fog nozzle is used as an auxiliary nozzle, paired with medium-diameter hose, and is deployed on tertiary lines, compatible with 2.25", 2.5", and 3" hoses.
