Stepping Stones for LIFE Orientation Phase

The orientation phase of Stepping Stones for LIFE begins before the judge or magistrate orders admission to the program.

Youth entering Stepping Stones for LIFE will have already completed the Intake Orientation upon their initial arrival at the detention center.

Youth in Stepping Stones for LIFE are not expected to leave the room in the same condition after completing a room check with staff.

Youth entered into Stepping Stones for LIFE will begin the program at the Silver Level.

Youth are not expected to follow any rules at the detention center.

Youth need to sign an acknowledgment form to show their understanding of the program rules.

Youth can keep their supply bag with them throughout the day.

Youth are allowed to tie their sweatshirt around their waist.

Youth are required to be quiet and keep their heads and eyes forward during transition throughout the facility.

Youth are allowed to talk and laugh during transition without permission from staff.
