Least Squares Method

The least squares method is a procedure for using sample data to find the estimated regression equation.
It is used to develop the estimated multiple regression equation by finding the values of β0 and β1 that minimize the sum of squared residuals.

The estimated regression equation describes how the mean value of y is related to x, while holding the values of all other independent variables in the model constant.

Using Excel's Chart Tools to Compute the Estimated Regression Equation
