Formation
- The present subjunctive is formed differently from the present indicative, but similarly to the present perfect subjunctive.
- The present subjunctive is formed by dropping the -o ending from the yo form of the present indicative and adding the following endings:
- -e for -ar verbs
- -a for -er and -ir verbs
- -a for stem-changing verbs
- Examples:
- hablar (to speak): habl-e
- comer (to eat): com-a
- vivir (to live): viv-a
