Prepositions of Location

  • To indicate a location on a street, use "En la calle" or "En la avenida" followed by the street name, and translate to "On ____ Street" or "On ____ Avenue".
  • To indicate direction, use "A la derecha" to mean "To the right" and "A la izquierda" to mean "To the left", both of which can be used with the preposition "del" or "de la".
  • To indicate a location at the back or end of a place, use "Al fondo" which can be translated to "In the back" or "At the end".
  • To indicate a location next to something, use "Al lado" which can be translated to "Beside" or "Next to".
  • To indicate proximity, use "Cerca" to mean "Near" or "Close to", and "Lejos" to mean "Far".

  • To indicate a location behind something, use "Detrás" which can be translated to "Behind".
