Gender Parity

• The 2024 Index, the 18th edition of the Global Gender Gap Index, benchmarks gender parity across 146 economies.

Global Peace Index

• India stands at 116th rank out of 163 countries in the 18th edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2024.
• Iceland tops the list, followed by Ireland, Austria, New Zealand, and Singapore.
• Europe has been the most peaceful region in the world and is home to eight of the ten most peaceful countries.
• The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region remained the world's least peaceful region.

Environment

• Wärtsilä Oyj Abp launched the world's first large-scale 100% hydrogen-ready engine power plant to enable net-zero power systems.
• India ranks 176 out of 180 countries in the 2024 Environment Performance Index (EPI) with an EPI score of 27.6.

Foreign Direct Investment

• India received the highest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Singapore in FY24, followed by Mauritius, the United States, Netherlands, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and Cayman Islands.
• The total FDI saw a negligible decrease of 1% from USD 71.35 billion in FY23 to USD 70.95 billion in FY24.
