Genre, Codes, and Conventions
- Genre is categorized by common features (codes & conventions) and comes from the French word "type" or "class".

- Conventions are accepted ways of doing something; they include story principles, form and structure, character arcs and page layout.
- Technical codes involve equipment use (camera techniques, framing, lighting).
