Pitch and Frequency

For instance, middle C on a piano has a frequency of approximately 261.6 Hz, while A above middle C corresponds to 440 Hz, which standardizes concert pitch across instruments worldwide.

Vibrations

At the core of every sound lies mechanical vibration, where objects oscillate back and forth in response to forces applied upon them. When you strike a drumhead with your hand, air molecules inside your ear detect these movements, converting them into electrical signals sent to your brain for interpretation. Decibel Scale

The decibel scale measures relative loudness or intensity between two sounds instead of providing an absolute value. It uses logarithmic values since human perception of sound volume isn't linear; doubling the amplitude (power) of a sound causes only a 6 dB increase. To put this into context, everyday conversation ranges from 45 to 60 dB, whereas heavy machinery may emit noise levels exceeding 90 dB. Sounds below 0 dB are not audible because there's nothing lower than complete silence!
