Study Notes
- Using SolidWorks and preparing for CSWA exam: notes taken from SolidWorks CSWA Tutorials (Dec 2018)
- Starting a Sketch:
- Sketch on a Plane or Face: create using lines and centrelines
- Smart Dimensions: Linear, angular, radial, diameters
- Circles: created using two points or two parallel lines, diameter
- Arcs: created using radial, angled lines, centerpoint, endpoints, or tangent
- Dimension to centre lines: change from linear to diameter dimensions
- Sketch Entities:
- Lines and Centrelines: vertical, horizontal, or specified angle, construction lines
- Rectangles: corner rectangle, centerpoint rectangle, three point rectangle, parallelogram
- Circles and Arcs in a Sketch:
- Circles: Centre located at two places, perimeter with two or three locations
- Arcs: Centrepoint, endpoints of arc segment, tangent to an entity, created using line tool
- Fillets and Chamfers:
- Fillet: trims away corner and creates tangent arc
- Chamfer: trims away corner and creates bevel
- Angle-distance or distance-distance.
