- Freud was born on May 6, 1856, in Moravia, Czech Republic.
- Freud's parents, Jakob Freud and Amalia Malka Freud, were Jewish.
- Freud graduated secondary school at the University of Vienna in 1873.
- While studying, he worked with Ernst von Brucke, a leading physiologist.
- Freud entered medical school at the University of Vienna, spent 6 years there, and received his medical degree in 1881.
- Freud worked at the General Hospital and Vienna as a clinical assistant.
- He was appointed as a lecturer in neuropathology researching the brain's medulla.
