Hiring Process for San Andreas Department of Public Safety
- The hiring process involves multiple steps that must be completed to be considered for employment.
Application
- Applications are submitted OUT OF CHARACTER through the Discord ticket system in the #applications-hub channel.
- Applications consist of questions about character background, law enforcement experience, and more.
- Applications are reviewed within a week, and applicants will receive a message once their application has been reviewed.
In-Character Interview
- Once an application is accepted, applicants must report to the Mission Row Police Department (or arranged Police Department) for an IN CHARACTER INTERVIEW.
- Applicants can request an interview in the #fto-training-General section of Discord.
Training Process
- Upon completion of the application process, trainees must request a date for training.
- Training is typically held at the Mission Row Police Department (MRPD).
- If a trainee is unable to make a scheduled training date, they must reach out to an FTO via #fto-training-General.
- Training is held IN CHARACTER, emphasizing professionalism and realistic actions.
- Training is usually conducted by a Corporal and/or Sergeant, but Command team members can also conduct training if needed.
Ride Along
- Upon completing training, trainees are required to participate in a minimum two-hour ride along.
- Only Supervisors and those authorized by the Command team can conduct ride alongs.
- Failure to obtain required permission may result in demotion.
Vehicle Structure
- All officers must follow the Vehicle Structure, and failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
- Officers are allowed to use any vehicle they are authorized to, but must ensure they are comfortable with the vehicle they drive.
Vehicle Restrictions
- Patrol cars used by officers must not have a turbo or tinted windows, and officers who fail to comply will be asked to replace the car without refund.
- V.I.P.E.R units are the only exception to this rule, and only Corporal and up may use them with Certification from the Director.
Unmarked Units
- Unmarked units are reserved for Lieutenant and up for SADPS, SAHP, and LSCSO, and can only be used by one unit per three marked units of any department.
- Unmarked cars are also reserved for Sub-Departments that require an unmarked unit for their operations.
Vehicle Liveries
- Slicktop (two-tone) is restricted to Corporal & up, while full color (Frost White or Black x2) is only for Lieutenant and up.
- V.I.P.E.R units are for Corporal & up with Certification from the Director.
V.I.P.E.R Unit Usage
- V.I.P.E.R units should only be driven by V.I.P.E.R certified officers, and under no circumstances should another officer drive a V.I.P.E.R unit in a pursuit.
- Exceptions include taking the officer to get medical attention or picking up the unit from the hospital.
- A maximum of two V.I.P.E.R units can be patrolled for routine traffic enforcement, and otherwise, they are only to be used for certain scenarios/robberies.
Motorcycle Units
- Motorcycle Units are for Senior Patrol & above, and officers must make it clear they are pulling a moto unit when on shift.
- There is a limit of one moto unit per three marked units of any department, and officers must have completed the moto certification to use the motorbike.
K-9 Units
- K-9 Unit Liveries can only be used by K-9 officers, and officers must ensure they are not pulling a K-9 livery when grabbing an SADPS vehicle.
- K-9 vehicles must be used when the K9 is on shift, and for further information, refer to the K-9 SOP.
Officer Partnerships
- The maximum number of Officers per vehicle is two, and only the command team can make exceptions for this.
- Officers who are driving with more than one partner will be asked to split up, and repeated offenses will face disciplinary action.
Air-1 and Eagle-1
- Air-1 must only be used by certified pilots and co-pilots, and for more information, refer to the Air-1 SOPs.
- Eagle-1 must only be used on heists that require a SWAT response, and for more information, refer to the SWAT SOPs.
Marine Units
- Marine Units can be used to patrol the waters at any time, but there can only be one Marine unit out on patrol.
- If a pursuit takes to the water, more Marine units can be used, following the same requirement as the heist being performed.
