- Fake devices often exaggerate storage capacity and list China as the purchase country when checking the IMEI.
- Legitimate Samsung phones usually have the IMEI printed below the Samsung logo on the back. However, not all models have the IMEI printed in this location. The Samsung Galaxy Flip 6 and Fold 6 do not.
- Another way to check the legitimacy of a Samsung phone is by looking for a sticker on the back that contains the IMEI, serial number, and model.
- Fake Samsung phones sometimes have cameras with thicker rims and a noticeably different, plastic-like finish on the edges contrasting with metal on genuine phones.
Identifying Fake Phones
- Examine the camera rims and edges for differences in design and material.
- Compare the camera lenses for differences in hue and the quality of the finish.
- Compare the phone's structural elements, such as the bezels and the body's finish, for differences.
Google Locked/FRP Devices
