Numbers

• Types of Numbers:
  • Natural Numbers: 1, 2, 3, ... (positive integers)
  • Whole Numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, ... (non-negative integers)
  • Integers: ..., -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ... (positive and negative whole numbers)
  • Rational Numbers: fractions, decimals, and percentages (can be expressed as a ratio of integers)
  • Irrational Numbers: cannot be expressed as a ratio of integers (e.g. pi, e, sqrt(2))
  • Real Numbers: rational and irrational numbers
  • Complex Numbers: numbers with real and imaginary parts (e.g. 3 + 4i)

Fractions

• Definition: A fraction is a way to express a part of a whole as a ratio of two integers.
• Types of Fractions:
  • Proper Fractions: numerator is less than the denominator (e.g. 1/2, 2/3)
  • Improper Fractions: numerator is greater than or equal to the denominator (e.g. 3/2, 5/4)
  • Mixed Numbers: combination of a whole number and a proper fraction (e.g. 2 1/2, 3 3/4)
• Operations with Fractions:
  • Addition: add fractions with the same denominator, then simplify
  • Subtraction: subtract fractions with the same denominator, then simplify
  • Multiplication: multiply numerators and denominators separately, then simplify
  • Division: invert the second fraction and multiply, then simplify
• Simplifying Fractions:
  • Find the greatest common divisor (GCD) of the numerator and denominator
  • Divide both numerator and denominator by the GCD
  • Repeat until the fraction is in its simplest form

संख्याएं

• संख्याओं के प्रकार:
  • प्राकृत संख्याएं: 1, 2, 3, ... (सकारात्मक पूर्णांक)
  • समस्त संख्याएं: 0, 1, 2, 3, ... (नॉन-नकारात्मक पूर्णांक)
  • पूर्णांक: ..., -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ... (सकारात्मक व नकारात्मक पूर्णांक)
  • hữuण संख्याएं: अंश, दशमलव, व प्रतिशत (पूर्णांक के अनुपात में व्यक्त की जा सकती है)
  • अव्यूह संख्याएं: पूर्णांक के अनुपात में व्यक्त नहीं की जा सकती (जैसे π, e, √2)
  • वास्तविक संख्याएं: hữuण व अव्यूह संख्याएं
  • जटिल संख्याएं: वास्तविक व कल्पनिक भाग वाली संख्याएं (जैसे 3 + 4i)

अंश

• अंश की परिभाषा: एक अंश पूर्ण का एक हिस्सा को दो पूर्णांक के अनुपात में व्यक्त करता है।
• अंश के प्रकार:
  • उचित अंश: अंक weniger है देनumerator की तुलना में (जैसे 1/2, 2/3)
  • अधिक अंश: अंक अधिक है देनumerator की तुलना में (जैसे 3/2, 5/4)
  • मिश्रित संख्याएं: एक पूर्ण संख्या व एक उचित अंश का संयोजन (जैसे 2 1/2, 3 3/4)
• अंश के साथ संचालन:
  • योग: समान हर वाले अंश को जोड़ें, फिर सरल करें
  • व्यंजन: समान हर वाले अंश को घटाएं, फिर सरल करें
  • गुणा: अंकों को अलग-अलग गुणा करें, फिर सरल करें
  • भाग: दूसरे अंश का उलटा करें, फिर गुणा करें, फिर सरल करें
• अंश का सरलीकरण:
  • अंक व हर का सबसे बड़ा समान उपज (GCD) ढूंढें
  • अंक व हर दोनों को GCD से भाग दें
  • तब तक दोहराएं जब तक अंश सबसे सरल रूप में न हो
