Safety

• Keep emergency numbers posted near the phone for medical and fire emergencies.
• Inspect the machine daily or at the start of each shift.
• Remove dirt and oil from your boots before entering the cab.
• Never incinerate or puncture starting fluid containers.
• Always wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task.
• Start the engine only when seated in the operator's seat.
• Ensure all control levers are in the neutral position before starting the engine.
• Never wear radio or music headphones while operating the machine.
• Wear ear muffs or earplugs to protect against loud noises.
• Always follow the jump start instructions found in the operating manual.
• Never use a frozen battery.
• Never allow riders on the machine.
• Investigate the work site before starting operations.
• Ensure the work area is clean and dry when performing service.
• Never spray water or steam inside the cab.
• Never lubricate or service the machine while it is moving.
• Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts.
• If a maintenance procedure must be done with the engine running, never leave the machine unattended.
• Park the machine on level ground before servicing it.
• Lower the bucket to the ground before servicing it.
• Turn the auto-idle switch off before servicing.
• Warm up the engine for 5 minutes at slow idle speed.
• Turn the key switch to OFF to stop the engine.
• Relieve pressure in the hydraulic system by moving the control levers repeatedly.
• Remove the key from the switch.
• Attach a "Do Not Operate" tag to the control lever.
• Pull the pilot control shut-off lever to the LOCK position.
• Allow the engine to cool before leaving the machine unattended.
• If the machine must be raised, maintain a 90-100 degree angle between the boom and arm.
• Securely support raised machine elements.
• Ensure all parts are in good condition and properly installed.
• Always use non-flammable detergent oil for cleaning parts.
• Never use fuel oil or gasoline to clean parts.
• Disconnect the battery ground cable before working on electrical systems or welding.
• Always use a work light with a guard when servicing the machine.
• Attach a "Do Not Operate" tag to the control lever before servicing the machine.
• Never attempt to work on the machine without securing it first.
• Lower the attachment to the ground before working on the machine.
• Support the machine securely on stable blocks or props if working on a lifted machine.
• Never use cinder blocks, hollow tires, or props that could crumble under load.
• Never work under a machine solely supported by a jack.
• Keep hands, feet, clothing, jewelry, and hair away from rotating parts.
• Keep body and face away from the AIR RELEASE PLUG to avoid injury from parts flying off.
• Allow GEAR OIL to cool before releasing the pressure on the AIR RELEASE PLUG.
• Secure attachments to prevent them from falling.
• Keep children and bystanders away from storage areas for attachments.
• Only trained professionals and qualified technicians should mount tires.
• Never work on mounting tires without the proper equipment.
• Always maintain the correct tire pressure.
• Use a chip-on chuck and extended hose to inflate tires.
• Stand to one side and not in front or over the tire assembly when inflating it.
• Use a safety cage if available.
• Inspect tires and wheels daily.

Engine Test

• Measure the engine speed using the monitor unit or Dr.ZX.
• Measure the engine speed in each mode.
