    SACFA Clearance Guidelines

    • Applicant must enclose a copy of earlier SACFA clearance and NOC from AAI for sites cleared after 1995, along with a map indicating the site.
    • Applicant will be issued an ID number after submitting the application, and a circulation letter will be provided to attach with the application.
    • Acknowledgement slip will be provided as token of receipt of the application by SACFA members.
    • A copy of frequency agreement letter issued by WPC must be submitted at the time of obtaining SACFA clearance.

    Guidelines for Filling Siting Applications

    • Application forms can be obtained from SACFA secretariat, and necessary information must be furnished.
    • Six-digit coordinates of the site are necessary, which can be taken with the help of GPS system or any other method for accuracy.
    • Height of the site above mean sea level (AMSL) should be obtained from Survey of India or any other agency.
    • Name of the nearest airport and its distance from the site should be mentioned in the application.

    Requirements for Map Submission

    • Map should be of scale 1 cm = 1 km or nearest, covering an area of 12 km radius around the site.
    • Map should be marked clearly with:
      • Scale of the map
      • Location of the site
      • Name and geo-coordinates of the site
      • At least two parallel lines of latitude and longitude
    • Geo-coordinates of the site on the map should be authenticated by the applicant himself.

    Application Submission Guidelines

    • Hard copy and soft copy of the application should be submitted to SACFA secretariat.
    • Software is available from SACFA Secretariate.
    • Not more than 5 applications should be submitted in one bunch.
    • Separate application forms are to be filled for different frequency band and different site.

    SACFA Clearance Procedure

    • After issue of ID Nos., siting application is to be circulated as per list applicable to each category of siting clearance.
    • Forwarding letter issued by SACFA is also to be attached with the siting application.
    • Applications for additional antenna category need to be circulated to all members of SACFA, but no NOC from any member is necessary for approval of site except sites which fall in DIZ area.
    • A copy of agreement letter assigning the frequencies from WPC should be attached with application.

    Clearance of SACFA Cases from Railways

    • Frequency of the proposal and the band at which it is proposed is to be cross-checked with the allotted frequencies and frequency bands of Railways.
    • Longitude and Latitude of the proposed site has to be cross-checked with the existing Longitude and Latitude of the railway communication site.
    • Conditions may be imposed in the NOC that permission is given provided the transmission won't interfere with the railway frequency.

    • Sites for VHF/UHF with antenna mast installed on the rooftop of a building, with a height not exceeding 3 meters, are exempt from mast height clearance.

    Simplified Procedure for Mast Height Exemption Category

    • Sites falling under this category must file applications online, submit signed hard copies with ID numbers and Bank Draft, and a consolidated list of sites with prescribed format.
    • An earnest money of Rs. 1000/- and an undertaking as per Annex-2 must be submitted.

    Fast Track Site Clearances for Additional Antennae

    • No NOC from SACFA members is required for siting cases falling under the additional antenna category.
    • Siting applications must be circulated to all SACFA members, and their receipt ensured before SACFA Sectt. issues necessary clearances.
