Longest Rivers (by length): The Nile and the Amazon are the longest, but there's debate. Length is measured from the source to the mouth.
Determining Source Location: Finding the exact source of a river can be difficult.
Other Important Rivers (by length): The Yangtze, Mississippi, and Yenisei are also considered some of the most important.
Discharge Volume: The Amazon River discharges more than 200,000 cubic meters of water per second into the Atlantic Ocean, significantly more than the combined discharge of the Congo, Orinoco, Ganges, and Yangtze Rivers.
Largest Watershed: The Amazon River basin has the largest watershed in the world, exceeding 7,000,000 square kilometers (fourteen times the size of Spain).
Other Large Watersheds: The Congo, Nile, Obi, and Mississippi river basins are large, exceeding 3,000,000 square kilometers each.
