Reserve Sworn Members' Volunteer Program

The program is open to sworn members below the rank of lieutenant colonel who retire from the Department.
Any member currently accepted into the program will be grandfathered in on the effective date of this directive.
Future appointments to the rank of Reserve Sworn Member will only apply to sworn members below the rank of lieutenant colonel who retire from the Department.

Reserve Coordinator

The Reserve Coordinator is a position appointed by the Chief of Police to oversee the Reserve Sworn Members' Volunteer Program.
The Reserve Coordinator is responsible for all administrative matters pertaining to the program.
The Reserve Coordinator will report to the Chief's Executive Officer.

Policy

The program is based on a calendar year schedule (January 1st - December 31st).
Reserve sworn members must live within 30 air miles of Kansas City, Missouri, and serve at the discretion of the Chief of Police.
