Study Notes
Reservation Policy
- Reservation for PwBD and ESM is on a horizontal basis, as per prevailing rules.
- If suitable PwBD candidates are not available, the posts will be filled by candidates from other categories of disability.
- If suitable ESM candidates are not available, the posts will be filled by candidates other than ESM.
Age Relaxation
- For PwBD candidates, maximum age is relaxable by:
- 10 years for GENERAL/EWS candidates.
- 15 years for SC/ST candidates.
- 13 years for OBC (Non-creamy Layer) candidates.
- For Ex-Servicemen, maximum age is relaxable as per Government directives.
- For Departmental candidates (employees of SAIL), the upper age limit is 45 years, irrespective of caste/category.
CTC and Salary
- CTC at the minimum of the scale of pay on regularization in S-3 grade is approximately Rs. 10.4 Lakh per annum (excluding location-based allowances, category-specific allowances, etc.).
- The company will not bear any liability on account of salary, leave salary, or pension contribution etc. of previous employment.
Mode of Selection
- Eligible candidates will appear in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) in Hindi/English.
- The CBT will consist of 100 objective-type questions in 2 segments:
- 50 on Domain Knowledge.
- 50 on Aptitude Test.
- The duration of the CBT will be 90 minutes.
- The minimum qualifying marks in the CBT will be determined based on:
- 50 percentile score for unreserved/EWS posts.
- 40 percentile score for posts reserved for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/PwBDs.
- Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be shortlisted for the skill test in order of merit, at a ratio of 1:3 for each post/discipline.
Skill Test
- The skill test will be of a qualifying nature only.
- For final selection, the weightage of marks of the CBT will be 100%.
- The skill test will be held at any Plant/Unit/Mines location of the SAIL.
Application Submission
- Candidates should submit their application only through the SAIL website (www.sail.co.in at “Careers” page or www.sailcareers.com).
- Candidates should ensure they have a valid E-mail ID and Mobile No. which should remain valid for at least one year.
- Candidates should have a latest passport-sized coloured photograph and a photograph of their own full signature in running letters in digital format for uploading with the application form.
- Candidates should pay the application/processing fee online through Net Banking/Credit Card/ATM-cum-Debit Card.
