6.1 The Research Problem
- Qualitative research seeks rationale for study, often stemming from personal experiences, job issues, advisor's research, or scholarly literature.
- Research problems are introduced in opening paragraphs.
- The term "problem" might better be described as the "need for the study" to avoid confusion.
- A rationale is important for a qualitative study.
6.2 Purpose Statement
- Purpose statements give the major objective of the study.
- Use clear and concise language..
