  • Existuje přibližně 12 000 druhů ptáků
  • V České republice je k 31.12.2022 zaznamenáno 403 druhů ptáků
  • Asi 200 druhů ptáků u nás hnízdí

Taxonomie ptáků

  • Evoluční vztahy ptáků jsou znázorněny na několika diagramech / stromech evolučního vývoje
  • Zobrazení evolučního vývoje ptáků z jiných živočichů, a z jiných obdobných skupin ptáků
  • Rozdělení ptáků do řádů, čeledí a rodů
  • Názvy jednotlivých skupin ptáků
  • Popis jednotlivých znaků pro charakteristiku řádů a čeledí ptáků (např. zobáky, nohy, opeření, způsob života)

Řád hrabaví (Galliformes)

  • Zavalití, pozemní ptáci (i když mohou spát na větvích)
  • Mají krátká zobáky, a na hlavě kožené výrůstky
  • Pohlaví se často liší zbarvením
  • Někdy polygamie
  • Hnízda většinou na zemi
  • Všežravci
  • Existuje u nás 6 druhů hnízdících ptáků

Řád tetřevovití (Tetraonidae)

  • Lesní kurové, hustě opeření, s opeřenými nohami
  • Nezabírají typicky žádné konkrétní lokality, mohou se pohybovat po lesních i otevřených krajinných typech.
  • Obvykle zdržují na lesních plochách

Řád bažantovití (Phasianidae)

  • Kurové otevřených krajiny (synantropní)
  • Někdy mají prodloužená ocasní pera
  • Běhají s lysými nohami

Řád vrubozobí (Anseriformes)

  • Středně velcí až velcí ptáci
  • Mají krátký plochý zobák (filtrační lamely k cezení potravy)
