Form and Structure

Affirmative Structure:
- Subject + base form of the verb (add "s" or "es" for third person singular)
- Examples:
- I play.
- He plays.
- They eat.

Third Person Singular Rules:
- Add "s" (e.g., "he runs")
- Add "es" for verbs ending in -ch, -sh, -x, -o (e.g., "she watches," "he goes")
- Change "y" to "i" and add "es" for consonant + y (e.g., "he flies")
Negative Sentences

Structure:
- Subject + do/does + not + base form of the verb
- Examples:
- I do not (don’t) play.
- He does not (doesn’t) play.
- They do not (don’t) eat.

Usage:
- Use "do" with I, you, we, they.
- Use "does" with he, she, it.

Contractions:
- "Do not" becomes "don’t."
- "Does not" becomes "doesn’t."
