Study Notes

The Human Body

  • Consists of two parts: the visible physical body and the invisible energy body called the bioplasmic body
  • The bioplasmic body interpenetrates the physical body and extends beyond it by four or five inches

Pranic Healing

  • An ancient science and art of healing that utilizes prana or ki (life energy) to heal the whole physical body
  • Involves the manipulation of ki and bioplasmic matter of the patient's body

Prana (Ki or Life Energy)

  • Keeps the body alive and healthy
  • Can be projected to the patient for healing
  • Three major sources: solar prana, air prana, and ground prana

Sources of Prana

  • Solar prana: obtained through sunbathing, exposure to sunlight, and drinking water exposed to sunlight
  • Air prana: absorbed by the lungs through breathing and directly by the energy centers (chakras) of the bioplasmic body
  • Ground prana: absorbed through the soles of the feet, increased by walking barefoot

Importance of Prana

  • Fresh food contains more prana than preserved food
  • Plants and trees absorb prana from sunlight, air, water, and ground
  • Men and animals obtain prana from sunlight, air, ground, water, and food

Absorbing and Projecting Prana

  • One can learn to consciously absorb prana to increase vitality, capacity to do work, and ability to think clearly
  • Prana can be projected to another person for healing
  • Persons with excess prana tend to make others feel better and livelier
  • Those who are depleted tend to unconsciously absorb prana from others

Prana-Rich Environments

  • Certain trees (e.g. pine trees) and areas tend to have more prana than others
  • These areas can become healing centers
  • One can learn to consciously absorb prana from these areas through the palms

Effects of Prana on Health

  • Decrease in solar and air prana during bad weather conditions can make people feel mentally and physically sluggish or susceptible to infectious diseases
  • Consciously absorbing prana can counteract these effects
