Transitions
- Transitions are effects in PowerPoint that occur when moving from one slide to the next in a slideshow.
- Adding visual flair and engagement is accomplished with transitions.
Types of Transition
- Subtle transitions give a smooth and professional look.
- Subtle transitions are appropriate for corporate or educational presentations where clarity is key, with examples such as fades, pushes, and cuts.
- Exciting transitions are more dramatic and visually engaging.
- Use exciting transitions presentations when you want to capture attention or make a statement.
- Zoom, fly, and wipe are examples of exciting transitions.
- Dynamic Content transitions focus on the content itself, making it appear to move or change as the slide progresses.
- Morph and dissolve are examples of dynamic content transitions.
Accessing Transitions
- To add a transition, first select the slide.
- Go to the Transitions tab on the ribbon.
- Locate the Transition to This Slide group.
Applying a Transition
- Click on a transition effect to preview and apply it to the selected slide.

Adding Animations

- Go to the Animations tab on the PowerPoint ribbon.
- Click "Add Animation" and choose from the available effects (Entrance, Emphasis, Exit, or Motion Paths).
- Further customize the animation by adjusting timing, effects, and triggers in the Animation Pane.
