- Population momentum occurs when a country's fertility rate declines to or below replacement level (2.1 children per woman), yet the population size continues to grow due to the age structure of the population.
- Replacement fertility level is the level of fertility at which a population exactly replaces itself from one generation to the next.

- An urban barangay is classified as such if it meets any of the following criteria:
- Has a population size of 5,000 or more.
- Has at least one establishment with a minimum of 100 employees.
- Has five or more establishments with 10 to 99 employees, and five or more facilities within a two-kilometer radius from the barangay hall.
- Urban sprawl refers to the urbanization of areas around the main urban centers, characterized by a high population growth rate.
