Scope
- This guideline is applicable to all district members, visitors, and individuals within SFD facilities.
Facilities - Administration and Other Public Access Areas
- Public access facilities are open during published business hours when sufficient staffing is available.
- Visitor movement should be monitored, and access to confidential or sensitive information should be restricted.
- A designated area for the public should be established, while other controlled areas should be limited.
- A visitor control process must be implemented for each facility allowing public access.
- Visitors must be accompanied within controlled areas and monitored throughout their visits.
- Facilities must be secured against unauthorized entry when closed or insufficient personnel are available for visitor monitoring.
Facilities – Fire Stations
- Fire stations are secure locations with limited public access.
- Public access is restricted to designated areas free from confidential records, reports, and protected materials.
