Give a brief description of the process of synthesis of food in green plants

Plants prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis. Leaves of these plant have a green pigment called chlorophyll which helps them to capture the energy of the sunlight. This energy is used to synthesis food from carbon dioxide and water in the presence of the sunlight. These process is called photosynthesis.
