Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST)

• Developed by the Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines to define qualities and competencies expected of Filipino teachers
• Built based on National Competency-Based Teacher Standards (NCBTS)
• DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2017 issued on August 11, 2017, provides guidelines for national adoption and implementation
• Goals: • Define and articulate qualities and competencies expected of Filipino teachers for effective teaching and student learning in the K-12 curriculum • Describe increasing levels of knowledge, skills, and values that teachers need throughout their careers • Provide a framework for professional development programs to support teachers' growth and enhance their practice

Southeast Asia Teachers’ Competency Framework (SEA-TCF)

• Developed by the Ministries of Education in Southeast Asia (including 10 ASEAN countries and Timor Leste) to define essential skills and qualities of effective teachers in the region
