Elections
- To run for Senate, a person must be 35 years old at the time of election
- Senators and Members of the House of Representatives start their terms on the 30th of June following their election.
- There are 24 senators in the Philippines, 12 are elected regularly every three years.
- The Senate and House of Representatives form the bicameral Philippine Congress.
- The Code of Conduct for Public Officials and Employees details the process of impeachment trials by Congress.
- The Supreme Court has the power to examine the constitutionality of executive and legislative actions (judicial review).
Courts
- Supreme Court: One Chief Justice and 14 Associate Justices. Qualifications include being a judge in a lower court or practicing law for 15 years.
- Shari'a Courts: Settle legal disputes between Muslims based on customary and personal laws.
- Municipal Circuit Courts: Handle disputes across multiple municipalities.
- Metropolitan Trial Courts: These are trial courts within metropolitan areas.

- City Officials: Consists of a mayor, vice mayor, Sangguniang Panlungsod members, secretary, treasurer, assessor, accountant, budget officer, planning and development coordinator, engineer, health officer, civil registrar, administrator, legal officer, veterinarian, social welfare and development officer, and general services officer.
- Province: Created when certain income, population, or land area criteria are met.
- Provincial Officials: A governor, vice-governor, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, a secretary, treasurer, assessor, accountant, engineer, budget officer, planning and development coordinator, legal officer, administrator, health officer, social welfare officer, general services officer, agriculturist, and veterinarian.
