Established on January 1, 1916, as the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR)
Reorganized into the Department of Agriculture and Commerce (DAC) in 1932
Renamed back to the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 1947
The Natural Resources arm was spun off as the Ministry of Natural Resources on May 17, 1974
Reorganized into the Department of Environment, Energy and Natural Resources in 1987
Finally became the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) on June 10, 1987
