Past Simple
- Used for actions that occurred at a specific time in the past and are now finished.

Past Continuous
- Used to express an action that was in progress (lasting for a certain duration) but is completed.

Combining Past Simple and Past Continuous
- When two actions occur in the past, use the past simple for the shorter action and the past continuous for the longer action.
