Active to Passive Voice
- “The company will launch a new product next month” changes to “A new product will be launched by the company next month.”
- “Sarah has written three books” changes to “Three books have been written by Sarah.”
- “Tom painted the entire house last weekend” changes to “The entire house was painted by Tom last weekend”.
Agent
- "The book was read by her" is the only correctly formed passive voice sentence that uses “by” to introduce the agent.
- “The meal was being cooked by them”, “The film is watched by many people”, and “She was greeted by the surprise party” are all examples of correct passive voice sentences that use “by” to introduce the agent.
Intransitive Verbs
- "The audience laughed loudly" is the only sentence that cannot be changed into passive voice as it has an intransitive verb.
- “The children played in the park” cannot be changed into passive voice as it has an intransitive verb.
Passive Voice: Varied Tenses
- "They are building a new library in the town" changes to “A new library is being built in the town by them”.
- “Jessica will perform the new song” changes to “The new song will be performed by Jessica”.
- “The chef was preparing a special dish” changes to “A special dish was being prepared by the chef”.
